MPI Research is pleased to announce the addition of Mary M. Sherman, Ph.D., to the scientific team. Dr. Sherman comes to MPI Research from Pharmacopeia in Princeton, New Jersey, where she served as the Associate Director of Analytical Chemistry – ADME overseeing development and support of library compounds and in vitro metabolism. Previously, she spent nearly ten years at Wyeth Research where her last responsibility was leading an enhanced support group in physical chemical profiling and pre-formulation activities for discovery projects. Dr. Sherman completed her Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin. She went on to a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Utah at Salt Lake City.

Dr. Sherman’s primary responsibilities will be oversight and continued development of the in vivo ADME Department. In addition, she will focus near term on assessing in vitro and in situ ADME assays for development at MPI Research as well as oversee the implementation of the DEBRA® data analysis software for increased ADME study throughput.

Dr. David G. Serota, Ph.D., D.A.B.T., Director of Toxicology at MPI Research commented, “We are very excited to have Dr. Sherman join our team. Her experience in the analytical chemistry and in vitro ADME areas adds invaluable expertise and depth to our ADME group. She has the experience and wherewithal to be able to assist sponsors in fulfilling their ADME testing requirements. She will be instrumental in helping MPI Research become a leader in drug discovery support services.”
