their fourth state-of-the-art surgical
suite! |
MPI Research is pleased to announce a 1200
square foot expansion of its surgical area
with the completed construction of its fourth
surgical suite.
With this expansion in capacity and capabilities,
simultaneous surgeries on multiple animal
species have become a reality. Fully trained
on-site surgeons oversee the four separate
surgical suites, including the newly renovated
and improved rodent surgery area. The new
hospital-style area consists of a prep room,
and a recovery area with a viewing area/office
that includes high-speed internet connections,
for visiting Sponsors. The new suite is equipped
with a HEPA filtration system, two fluoroscopy
tables for increased stenting volume. Utility
rooms have also been added for improved flexibility.
Available now to all surgeries are active
anesthetic scavenging and liquid oxygen supplies.
Modernistic surgery tables for stenting and
DSI implantation have been added for faster
study starts.
Rhonda Pung, D.V.M., Manager, Clinical Medicine
and Surgical Services, commented, “With
the new surgery area, we have increased our
capacity and capabilities; allowing us to
perform additional animal surgeries simultaneously
using leading edge instrumentation and equipment.”
Pat Turck, MS, Director of Surgical Studies,

the fastest start times for surgery studies
